Willelma Block Heel Combat Ankle Boots, Lace-Up

Willelma raises a combat boot onto a block heel, which changes what it can do. Flat combat boots are practical but read as casual; add height and the same laced, sturdy shape works with a dress or a skirt without the proportions going wrong. The lacing runs the full front so the fit can be tightened properly across the instep.

Three colourways and one of them is unusual. Black is the obvious workhorse. Brown is warmer and pairs with camel, cream and denim. Green is the surprise, and in a boot this structural it reads as a considered choice rather than a novelty, particularly with olive, charcoal or dark denim. All three take jeans, tights or leggings.
