Gauthiere is a button-down gingham shirt dress with a tiered skirt, and it is the first gingham in the collection. Gingham is a woven check rather than a printed one, so the pattern runs through the cloth and shows on both faces instead of sitting on the surface.
Two colourways, both classic gingham grounds. Light blue is the traditional one and the crispest. Pink is the softer of the pair. Tiering means the skirt is built in horizontal panels, which adds movement and volume below the waist without needing a petticoat.
Sizes run XS through 3XL, seven sizes. The button front works closed as a dress or open over trousers, and the tiers make it forgiving through the hip. Steam rather than pressing, so the tier seams keep their fullness. The chart below gives body measurements in inches.
