Framberge is a plaid maxi dress made for cold weather, belted at the waist and cut in a heavier fabric than a summer maxi. Winter dresses are a small category for good reason, most maxis are too light to wear once the temperature drops. This one has the weight to work with tights and a coat.
Five plaids across the range. Blue and grey are the cooler options. Brown and khaki are warmer and sit with camel and cream. Green is the most traditionally autumnal of the five. The belt gives the waist definition that a heavy fabric would otherwise lose, which is what keeps this from reading as shapeless.
Sizes run S through 3XL, a broader range than most occasion dresses offer. Wear it with knee-high boots and opaque tights, with a chunky knit layered over the top, or under a long wool coat. The chart below gives body measurements in inches.
