Berthaude is an oversized teddy coat cut long, and the length is what separates it from a teddy jacket. At coat length the curled pile has room to read as a considered piece rather than a casual throw-on, and it covers a dress or a midi skirt where a short teddy would cut the line awkwardly.
Five colourways and only one is a default. Black and navy are the formal pair. Khaki is the easy neutral. Dark green is the quiet standout and genuinely uncommon in teddy, where the palette is usually cream and brown. Red is the statement, and in a soft pile a strong colour reads warm rather than harsh.
Sizes run XS through 3XL, seven sizes, which is a wide range for a coat. Cut oversized, so take your usual size and allow for a knit underneath. Never press teddy pile, it flattens permanently. The chart below gives body measurements in inches.
