Ansgarde is a knee-high riding boot with a buckle strap at the shaft, and it carries the widest colour range of any tall boot here. The riding silhouette is the reason the shape has barely changed in decades: a straight structured shaft, a low stable heel and a clean line that reads smart rather than fashion-led.
Five colourways, three expected and two not. Black, brown and dark brown cover the traditional ground and will do the heavy lifting. Purple and green are the surprises, and on a knee-high shaft they are a real commitment rather than an accent, so they suit someone whose wardrobe already has a colour in it. Wear any of them with skinny jeans tucked in, a midi dress, or a knee-length skirt and tights.
Sizes run US 4 through 12 including every half size, seventeen steps in total, so almost any size is covered. The chart below converts each one to EU and UK with the matching foot length. A tall boot with a fixed shaft offers no adjustment anywhere, so measure your foot rather than assuming your usual size.
